At intermediate level, you will learn how to use 'Tashkilat' (accessories) in Arabic Calligraphy and study different styles, such as Rokaa, Thuluth, Diwani, Farissi, Kofi, Maghribi. At advanced level, you will turn Arabic script into geometric forms and pictures.
Cultural activities
Another opportunity to gain an in-depth understanding of the culture, history, religion, and lifestyle of the Arab world, is to attend guest lectures, round table discussions, musical sessions, and special events organized by the Language Institute. Guest musicians are invited to play their instruments and speak about their trades. Social activities make a nice break in your Arabic studies. When students have particular interests in Moroccan politics, religion, culture, and history, guest speakers are invited to a roundtable discussion. Lectures usually take place in English or else a translator is provided.
You can also join the weekly local excursions organized by the Language Institute. The excursions are led by Arabic speaking tutors. You will gain essential Arabic vocabulary while getting to know the local sights of interest.
